Gareth Hunt

Gareth Hunt Alan Leonard Hunt (7 February 1942 – 14 March 2007) was an English actor, known as Gareth Hunt, best remembered for playing the footman Frederick Norton in Upstairs, Downstairs and Mike Gambit in The New Avengers.

Early life

Alan Leonard Hunt was born in Battersea, London in 1942; he was the nephew of actress Martita Hunt.[1]His father was killed in the Second World War when Hunt was two years old, and he was brought up by his mother Doris and stepfather.[2] At the age of 15, he joined the Merchant Navy. After six years, he jumped ship in New Zealand and worked in a car plant for a year before he was caught and served three months in a military prison.[2][3] Hunt was then deported back to Britain and while doing a BBC design course, he had held a variety of jobs, including being a stagehand, road digger, butchers assistant and door-to-door salesman.[2] Having had an interest in acting since his early years, he subsquently trained at the Webber Douglas Academy of Dramatic Art.[1] Following that, Hunt did rep across the United Kingdom and joined the Royal Shakespeare Company and National Theatre in the early 1970s. Among the many stage productions he appeared in were Twelfth Night, Oh! What a Lovely War and West Side Story.[1]

Hunt started his television career in 1972, playing a policeman in For the Love of Ada. The same year Hunt appeared in A Family at War and The Organisation. In 1974, he had a role in the Doctor Who story Planet of the Spiders and Bless This House.

[edit] Television fame

In 1974, Gareth Hunt appeared in the Upstairs, Downstairs episode Missing Believed Killed as Trooper Norton, batman to James Bellamy.[4] The character was a minor one; however, his performance led producers John Hawkesworth and Alfred Shaughnessy to ask him to come back as a regular for the fifth series in 1975.[4]

Hunt continued playing Frederick Norton, who had by now become the footman, until the eleventh episode of the fifth series, Alberto. In 1975, Hunt made appearances in The Hanged Man, Softly, Softly and Space: 1999.

In 1976, the year after leaving Upstairs Downstairs, Hunt starred alongside Joanna Lumley and Patrick McNee in The New Avengers. The show’s producers said he was cast because of his part in Upstairs, Downstairs.[4] Hunt played secret agent Mike Gambit and starred in the show until its end after two series in 1977. After that in the late 1970s and 1980s, Hunt made appearances in Sunday Night Thriller, Minder and Hammer House of Mystery and Suspense. In 1984 he appeared in the film Bloodbath at the House of Death and in 1988 he played many parts in the Pet Shop Boys’ film It Couldn’t Happen Here.

Hunt starred in a series of television adverts for the coffee brand Nescafé in the 1980s,[4] with a trademark move: to shake his clenched hand then open it, to reveal coffee beans, and smell the aroma.[5]

At the height of his fame, his name, usually shortened to just "Gareth", was used as an expression in rhyming slang.[6][7][8][9]

[edit] Later years

Gareth Hunt continued to have minor roles in many television programmes in the 1990s and 2000s, with appearances in The New Adventures of Robin Hood, Harry and the Wrinklies, Absolute Power (as himself), New Tricks and Doctors. From 1992 to 1993 Hunt had a leading role in the sitcom Side by Side,[4] and had a main role in the short-lived soap opera Night and Day in 2001. In 1997, he appeared in the film Fierce Creatures and in 2001 played Ritchie Stringer, a crime boss who was an unlikely suspect in the shooting of Phil Mitchell, in EastEnders.[10] For a brief time he abandoned acting and started a project called Interactive Casting Universal, a computer system that presented actors’ details and showreels.[2]

Hunt suffered a heart attack in December 1999 and withdrew from a pantomime in Malvern.[2] In July 2002 he collapsed while performing on stage in Bournemouth.[11] Gareth Hunt died of pancreatic cancer, from which he had suffered for two years,[3] on 14 March 2007, at the age of 65, at his home in Redhill, Surrey.[10][5] He had married three times and had a son by each marriage.[2]

Bobby Farrell

Bobby Farrell (born October 6, 1949 on Aruba) was the male singer in the successful 1970s pop and disco group Boney M.

Farrell left Aruba at age 15 to become a sailor. He lived in Norway and the Netherlands before moving to Germany. There, he was working as a DJ when producer Frank Farian spotted him for his new Boney M group. He became the sole male singer and sex symbol in the group, although Farian later revealed that Bobby made little, if any, vocal contributions to the group’s records, with Farian himself performing the male parts on the songs. Farrell did, however, perform live.

He appeared as dancer in late 2005 in the Roger Sanchez videoclip of Turn on the music.

Farrell currently lives in Amsterdam.

though he may have too much muscle, as remarked by a manhunt judge who foolishly considered it to be a disadvantage, kevin’s sexy smile and baby blue eyes will no doubt always win him plenty of adoring fans.

Antony Hamilton

Antony Hamilton Biography

Antony Hamilton was born in Liverpool, England on the 4th of May 1952. Just two weeks old, Antony was adopted by an Australian RAF Wing Commander Donald Smith and his wife Margaret.

From age 3, Antony was raised on a 640-acre sheep farm in Adelaide, Australia. There, he attended Scot’s College, a Presbyterian-run middle and high school.

With his father’s encouragement, Antony left Scot’s at age 15 to attend the Australian Ballet School in Melbourne. While on tour with "Gemini" in Moscow, famed ballet photographer Vladimir Bliocht, took over 200 photos of Hamilton, presenting them to the young Aussie just before he left the Moscow airport. Although impressed with the photos, Antony continued to tour with the Australian Ballet Company for two more years before he resigned in 1973. Antony then moved to London to pursue a modeling career.

In Europe, Antony became a staple in magazines such as Vogue and GQ. He quickly became a favorite subject of world-famous photographers Richard Avedon, Skrebneski, and Bruce Weber. The high profile exposure lead to work in print ads for Versace, a TV spokesmodel spot for Close-Up toothpaste, and even taking a Fred Astaire turn for 1979 Hanes panty hose campaign. That year found Hamilton being cast in his first lead role opposite Nia Bonet in the disco/vampire camp classic "Nocturna."

In 1984, Antony was chosen over 200 actors, including a young Jon Erik Hexum, for the title role in ABC’s "Samson and Delilah." While shooting his second feature, "Mirrors," Antony was offered a lead role in CBS’s ‘Cover Up,’ as a replacement for the late Hexum. Soon after his "Cover Up" debut , he was also being considered as a successor to Roger Moore as the new James Bond. During this time, he also returned to his modeling and dance roots for an appearance in Sheena Easton’s "Swear" music video.

Within a year of the series cancellation, Tony made a few television guest appearances on "L.A. Law", "The New Twilight Zone" and "The Hitchhiker."

By 1988 Tony landed a co-starring role on ABC’s "Mission: Impossible" revival series. He also had a guest spot on "The Charmings", and completed another feature film, "Howling IV." 1991 brought Antony a would be re-occuring role on the television series, "PS I Luv U" and his last screen appearance in the erotic thriller, "Fatal Instinct."

Antony continued to work in television and film until he passed away on March 29, 1995, of HIV related complications. His family asked that contributions be made in his name to AIDS Project Los Angeles.

Eugen Bauder

Eugen Bauder Eugen Bauder was born in 1986 in Alma Ata, the capital of Kazakhstan with german heritage, for those who have never heard of it. He grew up in a city close to Basel and attended school there.
Eugen Bauder, the new “Charming Boy” in the model scene, could hardly believe what has been happening to him. At the beginning, the short-spoken Eugen could not believe that he had the charms to be a model. His photos however spoke differently, so when he sent them to some agencies, the responce astonished him.

Eugen spreads unlimited charms, and – which is more important- his photogene is so stunning. His photos speak for themselves: not only with his flawless body and a six-pack, thanks to 14 years swimming; but also with his excessive talent, once being innocent and shy, at the other time being lascivious and passionate.
His very first photos were not even published, yet famous international model agencies have showed their interests. In his still-short modelling career, he has already worked with some famous photographers, such as Mario Testino, Tony Duran, and Karl Simone (12 page editorial for Genre Magazine). He has the cover shot and an editorial story in Hommes Uomo Magazine.

He currently resides in Los Angeles to work and collect some new exciting experiences. Eugen, who has played theatre passionately during his high-school years, was also hoping to meet someone who can help him on building his career in theatrical community. After his two month stay in LA, he will soon be seen in fashion shows in Milan and Paris.

Everything happens just like a dream for Eugen. He still can hardly believe how quickly he has been able to grasp his dreams. He himself said “That’s what I want. To ‘Live my dreams!’, and that’s what I’m doing right now.”

Alexei Nemov

Alexei Nemov Aleksei Yurievich Nemov (Russian: Алексей Юрьевич Немов; born May 28, 1976, Barashevo) is a famous gymnast from Russia. He is often called by many sports commentators and fans Sexy Aleksei. He often poses and waves to crowds during competition. Nemov’s sense of showmanship and his routines packed full of exciting skills have won him many fans. He currently lives in his hometown of Tolyatti with his wife Galina, and his son Aleksei.

[edit] Early life

Aleksei grew up in Togliatti, a small town on the Volga River. His father left him and his mother when Aleksei was just a baby, and Aleksei has never seen him since. He started gymnastics at age five.

[edit] Gymnastics career

As a 16-year-old he made his debut at the 1993 World Championships, placing fifth on floor. The following year, he stamped himself as a true all-around contender, winning his qualifying session at the Worlds. He later faltered and dropped to 12th overall. He won his first major all-around title at the Goodwill Games in Saint Petersburg, beating his 2nd-place teammate and World Silver Medalist Aleksei Voropaev by over one point. Much like Lilia Podkopayeva, fans and analysts marveled at Aleksei for embodying all the ideal qualities of a world-class gymnast: complex acrobatics, elegance, and style. It was clear to everyone that he would be an imposing figure in world competition.

Despite promising international success, in 1995 he gained a reputation for having variable performance.
Then 19, in the all-around of the European Championships, he was the leader in five events and had put up the high score on three events. When he came to high bar, he only needed an 8.75 to win the title. He missed his two major release moves, crashed into the bar on another release move, botched a required element, and stopped in the middle of his routine. He scored a 7.35 and dropped to ninth overall.

A few months later, Aleksei had another showing at the World Championships in Sabae, Japan. The entire Russian team, had a disastrous showing. They were in an astounding 11th place after the 1st round; and Aleksei was in 96th all-around. The team rebounded in the optionals to finish 4th overall (still a disappointment since it marked the first time in decades that the Russians failed to medal in the team competition), while Aleksei put up the highest optional score of all the competitors. His compulsory round prevented him from qualifying to the all-around finals.

Aleksei finally seemed to realize his vast potential at the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta, Georgia, winning six medals (two gold, one silver, and three bronze). He performed solidly in the all-around, battling World Champion Li Xiaoshuang every step of the way. However, he ruined his chances for gold when his concentration failed him once again, and he botched his middle tumbling run on the final event. He finished a narrow second.

Aleksei’s considerable Olympic success and newfound worldwide fame seemed for naught, however, as he time after time baffled audiences with his uninspired, inconsistent performances in major international competition. He continually battled recurring shoulder injuries, boredom, and poor fitness level. He failed to win a major all-around title for nearly four years, and many doubted his chances for Olympic gold at the Sydney Olympics. However, he surprised everyone when he arrived at the Olympics doing the best gymnastics of his career, and once again took home six medals. This time, he won the all-around title, finally winning his first major championship of his career.

Although never regaining his incredible form of 2000, Aleksei competed through to the 2004 Athens Olympics, mainly as an anchor for the fledgling Russian team. Though unable to defend his all-around title, Aleksei’s performances brought the house down in Athens, and placed him in the middle of the largest judging controversy in the history of the sport. After performing the most difficult and dazzling routine of high bar finals, marred only by a step on the landing of his dismount, the judges posted a 9.725, placing him in third with several athletes to compete. The Greek crowd erupted in an endless chorus of boos and cheers, interrupting the competition for nearly 15 minutes. The judges felt the pressure of the crowd, reevaluated, and increased his score to a 9.762, still only placing him in third. The crowd continued their raucous protest, which only began to subside after Aleksei stepped up to the podium and pleaded with his supporters to quiet down for the sake of the other athletes. This scandal was finally credited as the last straw after several judging controversies in the competition, and fueled a massive reconstruction of the scoring system which was implemented in 2006. Aleksei took the disappointment in stride and rarely criticised the judges nor the situation. The Russian Olympic Committee later awarded Aleksei $40,000 in recognition of his class and character, and he retired from gymnastics soon after.
